Whitey Schmidt is a true Marylander, born on the banks of the Potomac River back in 1938. As one of 14 brothers and sisters, he quickly learned to fend for himself in the kitchen. When he came home late, his mother would say, “We had dinner hours ago. If you want something to eat, go fix it yourself!” He did just that, and learned at an early age that the kitchen is a great place to relax and create.
